Two things to stop overwhelm

Written by Lindsey Kaszuba

What would be different in your life if you loved how you felt?

Seriously. Think about it for a minute.

Because when you feel good, you:

- Wake up feeling energized, eager to start your day
- Think about your meals as a time to nourish yourself
- Feel proud because you know you are taking care of yourself
- Are present and calm knowing you can trust your next decision

But if you change nothing then the start and stop cycle continues…and no matter what you do you still end up standing in front of the pantry after dinner grabbing a cookie and a glass of wine. 🍪🍷

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could easily turn your biggest wishes into your actual reality?

The thing is…you can.

So, how do you really want to feel?

What is your initial gut reaction to that question? If it was an instant “omg, yes I really do want to feel good” or “ugh, I know I need to change something to feel how I want”, then you’re going to want to keep reading.

You have to be willing to take the next step. You have to push past those fear thoughts that are saying “Will I actually make the time for myself” or “Will I actually follow through with what I learn.” That is your mind getting in the way of your intuition or your gut reaction.

And that is when the self-doubt, overwhelm, anxiety, and excuses start to become all-consuming

I know that no matter how hard you’ve tried you can’t seem to find the right routines that stick. I know that trying to eat healthier is a never-ending loop of starting and stopping…one that causes tremendous overwhelm and guilt. I know that sometimes the excuses pile up, even though you really do want to make a change.

The hardest part about change is dealing with your own doubts and fears about yourself and your health. But here’s the thing: negative thoughts, doubts, and limiting beliefs will paralyze you. You can allow them to keep you second-guessing yourself and staying stuck in a cycle of start-stop…OR, you can let go and take action

Action is the antidote to fear.

This is something I have to remind myself of often. I have my own limiting beliefs, my own patterns that I’m trying to break free from, and my own blocks that I desperately want to see but that always seem to be just out of reach. I work on this daily.

The two things I do to help me move through all-consuming anxiety are movement and meditation. They have helped me heal my relationship with my body, with food, and with myself and I am confident they will help me grow into the next best version of myself.

Life is perfectly imperfect. There will always be something for us to learn, to see, to discover, and to explore. But its starts with the willingness to try and the drive to keep going.

Let this be your reminder that if you don’t take care of yourself, no one else will. If you’re feeling a full body YES, I want to eat, think & move healthier, then I have one thing to say to you…

Keep going - you’ve got this! 💪🏼
