Green Smoothie Bowl
There are a ton of benefits to starting your day with a smoothie but my favorite is that you can pack in the fruits and veggies. Smoothies keep you full longer given all the ingredients and their fiber content and can also be consumed anywhere, anytime. How’s that for simplicity?
If you are already making smoothies maybe you’re getting tired of your go-to recipe or just want to try something new. Try my recipe below or turn yours into a bowl! The trick is to perfect the ingredients so it is a little less watery and a little more dense so you can spoon it. And it’s ok if you don’t get it right the first time! An additional benefit is your littles will like this too- it’s fun to eat and you can involve them in making it. Win win!
Ingredients
1 cup coconut water
1 Tbsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp flax seeds
1 Tbsp hemp seeds
1 handful frozen mangos
1 banana
2 handfuls spinach and/or kale
1/2 avocado or nut butter
1 date
Blend in a blender and pour in bowl.
Top with granola, fruit of choice and drizzle with honey.
You can play around with the fruit combo to find your favorite. Sometimes I’ll swap the mango for strawberries or blueberries to mix it up a bit.
