They are one of the most nutritious foods on the planet and are loaded with fiber, protein, omega-3’s and lots of other nutrients and antioxidants like magnesium and zinc.
Chia seeds are prized for their ability to provide sustainable energy, so they are a great breakfast to add to your rotation. Plus, with all the fiber they keep you full longer. Fun fact: “chia” is the ancient Mayan word for “strength”.
Ingredients
2 Tbsp chia seeds
1/2 cup milk of choice
2 tsp honey or maple syrup
2 Tbsp nut butter of choice (I prefer peanut butter)
Mix all ingredients in a jar and soak in fridge overnight.
You can top with fruit and/or nuts when you’re ready to eat.
The nut butter is optional, but I like to add it for extra flavor.
