5 ways to nourish through nutrition

Written by Lindsey Kaszuba

Overwhelmed with the best way to improve your health?

Stuck in the same unhealthy patterns that you would like to break free from?

Want to create healthy habits but find it difficult to stay consistent?

I get it…taking the first step to feeling better is hard.

Am I worth it?

Will this even work?

Do I need this?

Will I make time for it?

There are a million reasons to say no but to be honest, nothing changes unless you decide it’s time to change.

The truth is we all experience this. Even me, your favorite health and habit coach. 😉

What sets certain people apart from others is the tools they have and use to manage it and stay consistent.

Many of my clients come to me with the goal of improving their nutrition and their habits around food, so let's explore the best ways to nourish our bodies for physical health and beyond.

  1. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition. Learn your method.

There is so much conflicting information, so what constitutes as healthy? Here’s the thing: one way does not work for everyone (gasp, I know). Eggs are effective for some people but not for others, high-carb diets are advantageous for people who are active but less helpful for people who are more sedentary. The best thing you can do for your health is concentrate on what works for you, and only you.

  2. Quality over quantity. Focus on the ingredients.

Your diet's nutritional value is more significant than its quantity. The foods we eat have the power to alter how our cells express themselves, so really, you are what you eat. Do you want to be a greasy Philly cheesesteak or an elegant grass-fed steak with a side of broccoli and potatoes? You always have a choice, choose what’s going to make you feel your very best.

  3. Eat more whole foods.

A diet focused on whole foods is best for every single system in your body. Simply put, whole foods are those that are cultivated from the land and include lean meats, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. Concentrate on adding in more whole foods and less on foods that come from a food manufacturer.

  4. When you eat, focus on your body, not your mind.

It’s our bodies’ job to tell us what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat. When it comes to food, we often let our minds dominate, which has an impact on how our bodies feel. Focus on eating more of what makes you feel great and less of what doesn't. I’ll let you in on a little secret…this is the #1 thing I did to heal my relationship with food and with my body.

  5. Stay consistent with what feels great.

Our habits are held together by our ability to maintain consistency. Simply put, without consistency it’s impossible to get results 😱 If you generally follow your body's cues about what foods to eat, your health will inevitably be full of ease. And when you don’t, don’t beat yourself up, simply just get back to what does feel best.

Our health is significantly impacted by the food we eat, but it’s certainly not the whole equation. The more you practice tuning into what feels great to you, the more you learn to trust your inner guidance.

You just have to show up for it.

Here for you,
