4 benefits of feeling energized as a parent

Written by Lindsey Kaszuba

Imagine waking up full of energy and eagerly rolling out your yoga mat, instead of sleeping in and frantically rushing to get the kids ready for school.

Imagine heading to the kitchen and automatically eating what makes you feel great without even thinking about it.

Imagine looking forward to your meals and feeling proud because you finally feel how you always wanted to, healthy and happy.

Imagine picking your kids up from school feeling present and calm because you've already carved out time for yourself today.

I don’t know about you but when I imagine these I get full-body chills. I get chills because I’ve lived a life of waking up feeling depleted, frustrated, discouraged, and overwhelmed, and now I experience these scenarios every single day. And it feels so damn good.

I know that right now, creating healthy habits feels like an endless loop of starting and stopping. There are all those “I’ll do it later” or “I don’t have time” thoughts that come flooding in right when you get the motivation to start eating healthy or moving more, and then all your health goals come to a screeching halt.

I get it. I get it because I’ve been there.

But here’s the thing: life’s too short to spend more energy worrying about the habits you didn’t keep up with when you could be moving throughout your day feeling like the badass you are. You deserve to feel confident in your own skin. You deserve to feel great.

THE REAL PROBLEM IS YOU'RE LOOKING OUTSIDE OF YOURSELF FOR A QUICK SOLUTION INSTEAD OF CREATING POWERFUL HABITS THAT WITHSTAND THE NATURAL FLOW OF EVERYDAY LIFE.

Let’s go back to this scenario…

You wake up full of energy and eagerly roll out your yoga mat, instead of sleeping in and frantically rushing to get the kids ready for school. After your workout, you make a quick, healthy breakfast that fuels you and grab a freshly brewed coffee. You get dressed in something that makes you feel powerful and whole, and you round up the kids and you’re out the door.

Close your eyes and imagine it. See all the details of your bedroom, the pajamas you’re in, your yoga mat next to your bed, your breakfast, that delicious cup of coffee, and the peace of the morning spent doing what feels best for you.

Can you see it? Like really see it so that you feel it?

Practice visualizing the habits you want to create, the life you want to manifest, and the natural flow of your day, every day. If you can see if, it’s meant for you and you can have it. If you can’t see it quite yet, keep practicing. Visualizing takes time. But once you get the hang of it, it will change the way you approach what you want.

The result? You make simple shifts in your health and you start doing what feels good to you so feeling good every day is no longer your wish…it’s your reality
