A Journey of Small, Consistent Steps to Create Big Impact

Written by Lindsey Kaszuba

Ready for a fresh perspective on health and wellness that doesn’t involve drastic overnight changes or restrictive diets?

The world often tempts us with promises of quick fixes in health. 'Lose weight in 30 days,' 'Detox your way to vitality,’ ‘Take this supplement to heal your gut health,’ the slogans are endless. But the truth is, real and lasting health transformation doesn't happen overnight. It's not about a dry January or a 30-day challenge; it’s about the choices we make every single day, consistently over time.

Overnight transformation is a myth - and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

As a passionate advocate for simple, sustainable healthy habits, I don't just teach these principles; I live by them. My journey isn’t marked by radical changes but by small, consistent habits that feel best to ME, that have accumulated to create a significant impact. This approach is about learning to listen to the whispers your body is sending you and enjoying the journey, not rushing to the destination. It’s never the destination we’re really after anyways, is it? ;) It’s the FEELING that it gives us.

Can I enjoy health, not just endure through it?!

Imagine a life where health isn’t a chore or a punishment for what you ate but a series of enjoyable habits that fit INTO your lifestyle. Imagine eating your food without guilt or restriction, moving your body in ways that fill you with energy, and listening to what your body truly needs. This isn’t a far-fetched dream – it’s the reality that consistency in health offers.

OK, so how can I stay consistent?

I know staying consistent sounds daunting, but it’s absolutely achievable with the right tools and mindset. Here are some strategies that have worked for me and many of my clients:

1. Tune Into Your Needs vs. Wants:

This is about understanding the difference between what you think you should be doing or eating, and what your body actually needs. It’s about listening to your body. It often speaks in the softest whispers so you have to really learn to pay attention. Does it need rest? Nourishment? Movement? The key is to be honest with yourself and respond accordingly.

2. The Power of the Pause:

Before jumping into a meal or a workout, take a moment to pause. Assess what you really need at that moment. Is it a healthy meal, a quick snack, or maybe just a glass of water? This pause helps you make more mindful decisions, aligning your actions with your body’s true needs.

3. Connect to the Feeling:

Focus on how you feel during and after eating or moving. Do you feel energized and happy after a brisk walk? Does a particular meal leave you feeling satisfied and nourished? Does that late night snack keep you up at night and cause restless sleep? Remember these feelings. They are powerful motivators that can draw you back to healthy habits, not because you have to, but because you want to feel good.

4. Learning to Trust Yourself:

This might be the most crucial tool. Trusting yourself means believing in your ability to make the best decisions for your health. It’s about building confidence in your choices and knowing that you have the power to create positive changes in your life.

Incorporating these tools into your daily routine doesn’t require massive effort; it’s about making small, mindful shifts in your approach to health. Over time, these small changes become a natural part of your life, leading to consistency, and typically more optimal health.
